Hilton Group recently opened the 231-room Mandalay Hilton, its third property in Myanmar.

Overlooking Mandalay Hill, the high-end hotel previously operated as the Mandalay Sedona Hotel, owned by Singapore-based Keppel Land. The Eden Group, one of Myanmar’s largest conglomerates, then bought the hotel for US$41 million and entrusted it to Hilton to manage.

Hilton Group, which also runs properties in Napyitaw and Ngapali, was keen to invest in Mandalay—Myanmar’s last royal capital and a thriving trading hub.

Many of the hotel’s guest rooms have private balconies and offer views of Mandalay Palace and the pagoda-dappled Mandalay Hill. Kitchenettes are available in several rooms and the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Café Mandalay serves regional and local fare.

Bungkus, an upscale deli in the lobby, serves delectable pastries and quick bites. The hotel also offers a swimming pool, a large Jacuzzi and a fully equipped fitness center that is open 24 hours.
