Geography

 

Malaysia comprises of two main landmasses, with western Malaysia bordering Thailand to the north, and eastern Malaysia taking up a large portion of nortehrn Borneo. The Borneo part of Malaysia borders Brunei and Indonesia, and Malaysia also has maritime borders with Vietnam and The Philippines.

The total size of Malaysia is around 330,000 km², and both parts of the country share similar geographical features of having mountainous interiors and low lying coastal regions.
