Laos is landlocked and sits between Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the south, Thailand to the west and shares small borders with Myanmar to the north-east and China to the north.

Laos’ landscape is densely forested and mounainous, and very undeveloped with vast remote areas that can make for some stunning scenery. The Mekong river flows through the west of the country and forms a large part of Laos’ border with Thailand.
