Cambodia covers an area of 181,000 km², and has a relatively short coastline of around 440 km in length.

Central Cambodia is low-lying and flat, with mountainous areas surrounding it. The large Tonle Sap Lake covers an area of more than 24,000 km² during the rainy season and is one of Cambodia’s main geographical features, along with the Mekong river which flows in a north to south direction through eastern Cambodia.
