Managing Director's Blog, June 2016

Dear Travel Partners,

Welcome to the June edition of our Asia World monthly newsletter.

There has been some adverse reaction to elephant rides in Thailand from animal rights activists recently, and I would like to reiterate the policy of Asia World on this subject, which has been mentioned in previous newsletters. Asia World believes in ethical tourism and are members of GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council).

We recommend ethical elephant parks such as Patara, Boon Lott’s, Elephant Nature Park and Baan Chang, where an ideal elephant experience can be had without riding these animals. The experience of feeding, bathing and interacting with elephants, is both uplifting and considerate.

In South East Asia the ‘Green Season’ has arrived. During this period from June to September, the Southeast Asia region turns a lush green with the end of the dry season. This period is an excellent opportunity for travellers to have access to some of the region’s most luxurious hotels at a much reduced price and relax on un-crowded beaches. Best Wishes
