Dear Travel Partners,
Welcome to the February edition of our Asia World newsletter.
Firstly, a very Happy Chinese New Year (February 16) in the year of the dog. This is always a busy time throughout Asia and we expect that most of our destinations will be very full.
Starting from Feb 1st, Thailand has initiated a smoking ban on 24 Thai beaches across 15 provinces. This will include popular tourist destinations in Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui and Koh Tao. Signs will be displayed in both Thai and English and there will be assigned ‘smoking zones’. Fines will be issued on the spot for any persons breaking this new law.
Thailand hosted the recent Asian Travel Forum (ATF) in Chiang Mai, which is one of my favorite destinations. In Chiang Mai, I had a wonderful dinner at 'David's Kitchen', which is rated by Trip Advisor as one of the top 8 restaurants in the world. I should also mention again that the ‘Asia World restaurant guide for Thailand’ is now available. Special mention to the world’s only Michelin star street food venue – 'Aunti Fai'.
Next month, Asia World will be attending the ITB travel show in Berlin. This will be my 26th time attending this event and I am always happy to visit this amazing city. If you are attending and have time to visit us at the Thailand stand, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lastly, Asia World can now offer personal protection services 'Le Boutellier Group'. This is a select service for elite 'minders' to offer security for VIP clients in Thailand and other parts of South East Asia.
Best wishes from all of us at Asia World,
