Dear Travel Partners,
Welcome to the December edition of our Asia World monthly newsletter.
It was a pleasure to meet so many of our partners at World Travel Market in London last month. That’s was the last of my travelling for this year but am hoping to meet with as many of you as possible during 2018.
Obviously, the big recent news in our region has been the volcanic eruptions at Mount Agung in Bali. Bali was forced to close its international airport for 3 days last week, although it has now reopened and most flights are leaving as scheduled. Asia World will of course keep you updated on any developments.
The new ‘Away Resort Thapae Resort’ has opened in Chiang Mai and is a lovely vegetarian themed retreat. The resort boasts colonial charm and is located within walking distance of Chiang Mai city center. The Away Resort is all about strict vegetarian diets and a laid back wellness regime – which is an ever growing market.
Located 1,000 meters above sea level, the Ho Thau Commune in the northern Vietnamese mountains, has cool weather all year round and breathtaking landscapes. The commune, with thousands of hectares of terraced rice fields and topped with the “grey hat” mountain peak, is considered the capital of the Red Dao ethnic group. Well worth a visit to escape from the tropical heat of the low lands, but it does require a half day motorcycle ride with our Asia World guide to reach this scenic area.
Lastly, from all of us at Asia World, we wish you and your families a wonderful festive holiday period. Hoping that all your dreams come true for the new year.
